Since Frank was founded, we’ve always believed the best campaigns are those that have that special ingredient – the ones which kickstart word-of-mouth, or what we call Talkability®.

Our whole approach is geared to coming up with ideas that create a reaction and get people talking, Tweeting, and sharing. Talkability® is at the heart of what we’re about. And we liked it so much, it’s been a registered trademark of Frank since the day we started. Which explains that little ®.

So, here’s a round up of the campaigns that got people (including us) talking this week…

The Week The Queen Sat FROW at LFW

We all want what we can’t have – which, this week, is KFC. The fast-food chain changed delivery supplier, which means it’s been unable to get fresh chicken to its restaurants across the country – and the UK is in anarchy. Tweeting is off the chart and media have set up live feeds on KFC’s progress as people crave getting their hands on Bargain Buckets.

What‘s stood out most is KFC’s incredible handling of the crisis. The brand has reacted with humour throughout the week, keeping people updated with straight-talking announcements that push its quality message in a lighthearted way, as well as a bespoke landing page for people to check the status of chicken near them.

KFC has got everyone talking today after taking out the above, full page ad in Metro. It is crisis communication at its best, and people certainly won’t forget about this any time soon. Just look at the search increase in the past week alone.

Coach Dating

How Long Will Your Relationship Last?

Is your relationship going to last? There’s now a super-scientific way of finding out.

In the run up to Black Mirror’s latest episode ‘Hang the DJ,’ the show created an algorithm which calculates the life span of your current relationship.

Coach Dating allows you to share a link with your partner in which you’ll find out your ‘relationship expectancy.’ The device will reveal exactly how many years/months/days or minutes you have left in your current relationship… that’s a cheery Friday thought..

If you’re feeling brave, give the website a go and put your trust in the ‘system.’ Or totally ignore it, and go on to have a great Friday afternoon.

More Than Just a Dog Filter…

Snapchat, Shopify and Nike’s Jordan brand and Darkstore have teamed up in an unlikely collaboration to pre-release the Air Jordan III ‘Tinker’ on Snapchat with same-day delivery.

Those who attended the Jumpman All-Star after party in LA were able to scan an exclusive Snapchat code to receive the new drop by 10:30pm the same night.

This is the first time a brand has sold a product via Snapchat and within 23 minutes all shoes sold out. Snapchat is certainly upping its game becoming an online retailer – but all we really want is the old format back.

Miquela Sousa

Not Your Average Influencer

With over 600,000 followers, 19 year old social media influencer Miquela Sousa has recently risen to fame. But something about her isn’t quite ‘normal.’

From her Insta feed, you can see Miquela attends events such as ComplexCon as well as shoots with brands such as Chanel, Moschino, Versace and Fendi. She also has a debut single Not Mine which made it to #8 on the ‘Spotify Viral’ list.

But the thing is, Miquela doesn’t actually exist. She’s a virtual reality avatar, and nobody knows who created her. Could this be a tease for the upcoming Avatar sequel? We don’t know, but we certainly know that the developing world of tech continues to astound us all.
